We are seeking a talented individual to join our Retirement Actuarial Consulting team at Mercer Canada. This role will be based in Calgary. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Mercer Senior Retirement Actuarial Consultant will sell and deliver customized retirement consulting services to both new and existing clients (large or jumbo) with an emphasis on implementation of non-standard and/or complex solutions for multiple lines of business. This role will also lead and develop internal staff to ensure operational excellence and sharing of intellectual capital.
We will count on you to:
Serve as lead consultant on mid-size, large and jumbo clients
Assist with the expansion of existing clients by incorporating intellectual capital generated within the business and partnering with other lines of business
Act as a mentor and coach, motivating staff to deliver high-quality work within timeframes and budgets, fostering individual and team accomplishments
Routinely use Mercer intellectual capital and participate in its development
Partner with local office and market leadership to expand Mercer’s market presence
Lead and participate in sales initiatives, proposals and extending the range of services provided to retirement and other lines of business clients
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field
Minimum 8 years’ experience in actuarial/retirement consulting with proven ability to deliver retirement consulting services
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build credibility and gain confidence at all levels
Experience in leading teams and managing projects
Strong presentation skills and proven leadership
Proven sales results and financial project management skills
