Event Security Officer

Location: Fort Collins, CO 80524
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Assignment: September 3rd to 11th
Travel: Must be willing to travel as needed for the assignment
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring Event Security Officers for a temporary assignment beginning September 3rd and continuing through September 11th. Officers will help maintain an orderly and secure environment by monitoring entry points, assisting with crowd movement, conducting area checks, and identifying situations that require attention.

This opportunity is a good fit for individuals who are comfortable working around large groups, staying alert for extended periods, and communicating with the public in a professional manner. Because assignments may require travel, applicants must be willing and able to travel as needed.
 

Key Responsibilities

Entry & Access Control

• Check tickets, credentials, passes, and other forms of authorization at designated entry and exit points.
• Verify access according to established event procedures.
• Direct guests to appropriate entrances, exits, seating areas, or other designated locations.
• Monitor access points for unauthorized entry or unusual activity.
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when interacting with attendees.
   

Crowd Management

• Help direct pedestrian traffic and maintain an orderly flow of attendees.
• Monitor areas where crowds may gather or become congested.
• Help prevent blocked walkways, bottlenecks, and unsafe crowd conditions.
• Observe seating, standing, and gathering areas for developing concerns.
• Provide clear directions and assistance to attendees when needed.
   

Screening & Inspections

• Conduct authorized checks of bags and personal belongings in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with screening processes, including the use of approved screening equipment when assigned.
• Identify and report prohibited items or security concerns.
• Follow all applicable screening procedures and instructions.
• Escalate concerns to supervisors when additional assistance is required.
   

Patrol & Observation

• Conduct foot patrols throughout assigned areas and venue perimeters.
• Monitor entrances, walkways, gathering areas, and other designated locations.
• Watch for theft, vandalism, disruptive behavior, hazards, or other unusual activity.
• Maintain a visible presence to help discourage unsafe or unauthorized activity.
• Communicate security concerns to supervisors promptly.
   

Communication & Professional Conduct

• Interact respectfully with attendees, staff, vendors, and other personnel.
• Remain calm and professional when addressing questions or challenging situations.
• Follow supervisor instructions, assignment procedures, and established security guidelines.
• Report incidents, safety concerns, and unusual activity accurately.
• Maintain dependable attendance throughout the temporary assignment.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to travel as required for the assignment.
• Must be available for the September 3–11 assignment period.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain attentive in crowded and fast-moving environments.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Professional appearance and conduct.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous event, security, customer service, hospitality, or public-facing experience.
• Experience working around large groups or high-volume public gatherings.
• Familiarity with access control or ticket verification.
• Experience with crowd direction or guest assistance.
• Strong situational awareness and problem-solving abilities.
