Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Shropshire to assist with the appointment of a Commercial Compliance and Assurance Project Lead, on a 3.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £359.34 - £452.56 per day
Summary:
Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced Commercial Compliance and Assurance Project Lead to design and implement a proportionate commercial governance and assurance framework across the Council. The role will work closely with Procurement and Contract Management teams and Service Areas to strengthen compliance, improve oversight, support informed decision-making and ensure adherence to legislative, government and internal procurement requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an effective commercial compliance and assurance framework across the Council.
- Ensure compliance with relevant procurement legislation, including PCR 2015, Procurement Act 2023 and the 2024 Procurement Regulations.
- Ensure procurement notices and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with Government Commercial Function Procurement Policy Notes (PPNs), Council procedures, delegations and contract rules.
- Develop processes, controls and documentation to embed commercial compliance and assurance across the organisation.
Essentials:
- Significant experience in commercial governance, procurement compliance and assurance within a public sector/local authority environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK public procurement legislation, particularly PCR 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
- Proven experience designing and implementing governance, compliance and assurance frameworks.
- Experience developing processes, controls, guidance and documentation to improve commercial compliance.
