Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts is looking for a talented Budget Analyst who enjoys meaningful work and collaborating with leaders across Washington’s judicial branch. In this role, you will take the lead in preparing, reviewing, submitting, and monitoring biennial and supplemental operating budgets for the Washington State Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Administrative Office of the Courts, Office of Public Defense, and Office of Civil and Legal Aid. Your work will directly support the effective operation of our statewide court system.
You will also shape the future of grant development within the judicial branch. This position takes responsibility for designing strategies that attract federal, state, and private grant funding, and for building strong processes that help programs secure and manage those resources. You will guide grant research, analyze complex funding opportunities, provide recommendations on multi-program initiatives, and craft statewide policies and communications that strengthen how Washington’s courts pursue and manage grants.
Reporting to the Management Services Associate Director, this role blends professional-level budget development with leadership in grant management. You will work closely with AOC management, the Office of Financial Management, and legislative staff, and you’ll collaborate with executive leadership, program teams, contracts staff, grant recipients, auditors, and funding agencies. The position offers a high level of independence, meaningful decision-making authority, and the opportunity to apply professional judgment to interpret funding requirements and establish agency-wide standards that support strong financial stewardship.
