Description
Our client is a high-end 5* luxury boutique resort with +/- 60 units and multiple F&B outlets in the Maldives. The resort is still in pre-opening phase.
You will be heavily involved with the pre-opening activities and will later on be overseeing the day to day culinary operations of this unique property and lead and mentor a team of passionate multi-cultural staff who will deliver a truly memorable experience for their guests.
As Executive Chef, you will lead the development of a distinctive culinary identity inspired by the destination's natural surroundings. Working with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce, you will champion sustainability while creating memorable dining experiences built on creativity, authenticity, and a strong focus on guest wellbeing.
This role will be reporting directly to the General Manager.

Profile
• 5*, leisure resort and boutique operation experience
• Island, Maldives or remote location experience
• Pre-opening experience
• Strong passion for sustainable gastronomy, wellness-focused cuisine, and ingredient-driven menus
• Experience leading and developing multicultural culinary teams
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food quality standards
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with great eye for detail
• Hygiene & HACCP competent
• People friendly, sensitive to staff needs and a great team player
• Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
• Strong customer relations skills with a focus on guest engagement
• Good financial and administration skills
• Proven ability to manage food cost, budgeting, and menu engineering
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
• Well organized and able to work independently
• Hard working and able to work efficiently under pressure
• Passion for service excellence
• Excellent people skills and strong motivator
• Positive attitude with a passion for training and team development
• Positive thinking with a “can-do” attitude
• Able to deal effectively with guests in a luxury environment
• Flexible, innovative, and results oriented
