Description
The EHS&C Systems Manager will manage all activities related to EHS&C Systems, SEMS Programs, SharePoint, LMS/Training platforms including but limited to development, implementation and deployment throughout the organization working closely with all business partners, EHS, RECM, HR, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• SEMS Program Development:
• Maintain a working knowledge of environmental, health and safety theory, regulations and Company policy as it relates to SEMS program.
• Review the record keeping process and branch compliance management to identify how they will work within the SEMS system
• Work with EHS&C and Operations teams to collect information for SEMS Processes and Module development
• Coordinate all activities related to SEMS module development, especially for compliance modules
• Gain feedback from EHS&C and Operations and supervise changes within the system
• Supervise activities with 3rd party consultants related to implementation plan ensuring the plan stays on track and is delivered timely
• Ongoing development of SEMS program – supervises all changes needed withing SEMS coordinating efforts with 3rd parties involved
• Supervise change management processes as changes are implemented in the system
• Make recommended changes to SEMS as organizational changes develop
• Assist in generating monthly DOT and safety subject matter and annual themes.
• Audit the system to ensure compliance with protocols for SEMS
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
Sharepoint Program Development:
• Maintain a working knowledge of environmental, health and safety theory, regulations and Company policy as it relates to SEMS program.
• Develop, deploy and maintain sharepoint content for EHS team internal and GFL Insights full pages
• Develop, deploy and maintain news information, working with Marketing team and IT systems
• Work with EHS&C and Operations teams to collect information for site and program development
• Gain feedback from EHS&C and Operations and supervise changes within the system
• Manage all changes and deploy all of the content and spread the information throughout the organization.
LMS and Training Program Development:
• Maintain a working knowledge of environmental, health and safety theory, regulations and Company policy as it relates to LMS and Training program development needs
• Review the record keeping process and branch compliance management to identify how they will work within the LMS system
• Work with EHS&C and Operations teams to collect information for training sessions and information needed for program development
• Coordinate all activities related to LSM module development and deployment
• Work with HR and 3rd party consultants related to implementation plan ensuring the plan stays on track and is delivered timely
• Coordinate putting together the training and proficiency Requirements: for all different job functions within the organization and manages placing those Requirements: into the LMS and Training programs
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Four (4) year degree in safety, environmental management or technology.
• 8-10 years experience in EHS&C activities.
• Experience with enterprise systems for managing EHS processes needed.
• Experience with Sharepoint and Microsoft applications needed
• Experience with training and LMS system management preferred.
• Possess valid driver’s license.
• Combination of education and/or experience
• Maintains the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality regarding company information.
• Must have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication as well as presentation skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish goals and objectives.
• Ability to write and understand reports and correspondence
• Ability to acquire and apply knowledge necessary to solve safety related problems.
• Work in indoor environment 70% of the time. Remainder of time will be spent outdoors at hauling companies, transfer stations, MRF and landfill or other physical locations.
• Environmental noise level is usually moderate to loud.
• Occasionally exposed to loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles.
• Early morning start times are occasional.
• Travel may be occasionally required.
