Description
Who We Are:
Our story began in 2011 when a group of office workers at a major logistics company in Chicago had a lunch problem. Nearby options were limited and the team was spending too much time and money traveling to their favorite restaurants. They had an idea: bring Chicago’s local restaurant culture inside the office to sell food. It was an immediate hit. When they discovered people from other companies sneaking into their office, they knew they were on to something.
Fooda pioneered the concept of rotating popup restaurants inside offices. Today, we operate in 45 cities with over 100 million meals served and continue to grow rapidly.
Powered by technology and a network of 1500+ restaurants, we feed hungry people at work through a platform of unique food programs located within companies, office buildings, hospitals, schools, distribution centers, and more. At Fooda, we believe a workplace food program should be something employees love and look forward to every day.
Job Description: Resident Vendor Sales – SM2 Program
Position Overview:
The Resident Vendor Sales representative finds and signs the restaurant and commissary operators who run Fooda’s SM2 (Amazon) kiosks. Reporting to the VP Program Operations, you own the full cycle on the supply side: prospect operators in a target market, pitch the opportunity, qualify them on capacity and food safety, negotiate terms, and sign. The pitch is a strong one. An operator gets a fully built retail outlet inside an Amazon fulfillment center at zero build-out cost, with Amazon funding the equipment and Fooda running the point of sale.
SM2 scales to hundreds of sites over the next couple of years. Some sites use regional commissary partners covering a dense cluster of ten or more sites. Others are a single local restaurant serving one isolated site, often in a rural market. You will work both. This is a hunter role, and it is the function the entire launch calendar rests on, because we cannot open a site we have not sourced.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No recruiters please.
The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 base plus incentive. Compensation is dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to: work experience, training, location and skills.

This is a hunter role, and it is the function the entire launch calendar rests on, because we cannot open a site we have not sourced.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own the full sourcing cycle in your markets: prospect, pitch, site visit, qualify, negotiate terms, and sign.
- Build pipeline against the 2027 launch calendar so signed operators are in place well ahead of each site’s go-live date.
- Target regional commissary and multi-site operators where sites cluster, and local restaurants for standalone sites off a viable freight lane.
- Qualify hard on production capacity, food safety posture, and whether our commission structure actually works for the operator’s margin.
- Carry a monthly signing target and forecast against it accurately.
- Bring market intelligence back on pricing, capacity, and operator appetite so we can adjust terms before the pipeline stalls.
- Hand off cleanly to partner onboarding and the regional Program Manager with everything they need to launch.
- Travel to your markets, including the small and isolated ones, and represent Fooda in front of independent operators.
- You have 3–5 years of experience in outside sales, restaurant sales, franchise development, or supplier sourcing.
- You’re comfortable selling to independent restaurant owners and small multi-unit operators, and you can talk shop credibly with a chef or an owner.
- You have a track record of hitting a monthly quota, not just an annual one.
- You have the judgment to walk away. An operator who fails in month three costs us more than one we never signed.
- You’re disciplined about pipeline management and CRM hygiene, and honest about your forecast.
- You’re willing to travel to markets that aren’t glamorous.
- Food service or food distribution background strongly preferred.
- Competitive market salary and stock options, based on experience
- Competitive variable compensation
- Comprehensive health, dental and vision plans
- 401k retirement plan with company match
- Paid maternity and parental leave benefits
- Flexible spending accounts
- Company issued laptop
- Daily subsidized lunch program (ours!) and free food and beverages in the office
- A fulfilling, challenging adventure of a work experience
