About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team in Moncton, NB. This is a 15-month contract, on-site position, reporting directly to the HR Manager, and provides day-to-day support across all core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, immigration support, and internal communications.
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting managers and employees, ensuring smooth HR operations, and contributing to a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate job postings, resume screening, interviews, and selection processes
  • Manage onboarding activities, including orientations, documentation, and system access
  • Support workforce planning initiatives, career events, and student plant tours
Employee Relations
  • Act as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Support managers with performance management, attendance, and conflict resolution
  • Assist foreign workers with immigration-related processes
  • Conduct exit interviews and track turnover metrics
HR Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Act as a super user (SU) of the HR system
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation needs
Training & Development
  • Support the implementation and tracking of training and development programs
  • Monitor training completion and effectiveness
Performance Management
  • Assist with performance review cycles, goal tracking, and feedback processes
  • Support talent development and succession planning initiatives
HR Projects & Communication
  • Participate in HR initiatives such as employee engagement, wellness, diversity & inclusion, and policy updates
  • Maintain and update internal communications (digital monitors, noticeboards, communication plans) to ensure timely and consistent messaging

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-functional HR role
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practices, and HR systems (HRIS, ATS)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
