  • Service, troubleshoot, and install Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, software/systems, programs, and operational product manuals.
  • Communicate consistently with district staff and customers to support a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Help train or mentor others on the service team.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions that improve facility performance and support upselling opportunities, including quotes when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How You Will Do It

  • Take ownership of each service outcome by working safely, accurately, and with integrity on every call.
  • Stay close to the work by listening carefully to the customer, diagnosing quickly, and removing obstacles that delay resolution.
  • Use clear documentation, candor, and problem-solving to improve every day and strengthen the quality of your service.
  • Collaborate with district staff, service resources, and customers as one team to deliver reliable results.
  • Troubleshoot and repair installed systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement or repair, low-voltage circuit trouble resolution, and system testing.
  • Organize and effectively use technical resources, information, material, and support to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels as part of the service process.
  • Use strong written and verbal communication skills to keep work moving and ensure the customer understands the solution.
  • Complete and submit task-related, activity, productivity, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Be available for on-call and occasional after-hours work based on customer need.
  • Provide practical recommendations and quotes that support facility efficiency and solution delivery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • Knowledge of test equipment, a multimeter, a digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
