ECU Behavioral Health is growing it's programming and hiring a Full-time ECT RN (Electroconvulsive Therapy) to join us in our growth!
Ideal candidates will have ECT or procedural nursing experience and behavioral health experience to be considered for this role.
Shift / Hours Available:
Full-time / Day shift: 7:00a.m. - 7:00p.m.

This new facility will help meet the urgent need for accessible, high-quality psychiatric care in the region, expanding capacity to support patients with diverse mental health needs. Newly opened, the hospital—located just under a mile from ECU Health Medical Center—will offer a full range of inpatient and intensive outpatient services.

Responsibilities
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Responsible for all pre and post treatment care of patients receiving ECT as well as assisting the medical staff during the administering of the therapy. When scheduled, provide nursing care in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide education about the ECT procedure and obtain a level of understanding from the patient and family.
· Work within the treatment team to provide pre-treatment assessment, treatment monitoring and post-anesthesia recovery management for patients and assure the smooth flow of patients through the ECT process.
· Participate in development and evaluation of nursing practices provided in the clinical setting and the overall function of the clinical area including the ECT Suite.
· Use multiple data sources to determine actual/potential health issues, functional status and safety concerns.
· Communicate patient’s condition and need for altered care with treatment team.
· Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients, initiates and continues pulse oximetry, oxygen saturation and EKG monitoring throughout treatment and recovery.
· Demonstrate safe, accurate and timely monitoring of cardiac and respiratory status and promote interventions that provide the least-restrictive and safest recovery.
Qualifications
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
· Current RN License as required by state.
· Current ACLS certification and Current IV Certification required.
· CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
· First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
