The Field Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the commissioning, integration, and optimization of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), EPMS (Electrical Power Management System) and Building Management Systems (BMS) within mission-critical and other facilities. This role ensures that all systems are installed, tested, and functioning according to project specifications and operational requirements. The manager will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with various stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in system performance and reliability.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent experience. Relevant certifications in SCADA, EPMS, or BMS are preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning SCADA and BMS systems, with a strong background in project management and system integration. Preferably 2+ years of team lead or management experience.
- Proficiency in SCADA, EPMS, and BMS technologies.
- Familiarity with IT and network systems
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Travel: Up to 30%
Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge in SCADA, EPMS, BMS technologies.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging professional growth and development for the reporting teams including engineers and other personnel
- Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure project requirements are met and team members are adequately supported.
- Identify and recruit top talent to expand and strengthen the Field Operations team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Lead management of safety training programs and processes to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with projects managers to lead the team through commissioning process for SCADA, EPMS, and BMS systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Oversee the integration of SCADA, EPMS and BMS systems with other building systems to ensure seamless operation and interoperability.
- Work in partnership with the team and other FTI groups to develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation plans to ensure systems meet performance criteria and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and client representatives to ensure smooth transitions from construction to commissioning.
- Ensure the team maintains detailed records of commissioning activities, including test results, system configurations, performance metrics, and other relevant system documentation.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure systems are installed and operating according to specifications.
- Drive initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency through design optimization and maintainability and provide guidance on new technologies or platforms.
- Implement strategies to optimize team efficiency, streamline processes, and maximize productivity
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
