We are pleased to announce the opening for a Senior Principal Data Analytics Engineer who will join our Engineering Services Division in Huntsville, AL and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a Missile Defense Agency team known for the rapid advancement of new technologies and capabilities to maintain our nation's warfighting edge in the field.
We are seeking a highly motivated, independent engineer to serve as a program scheduler and data visualization expert, developing advanced analytical tools and robust management dashboards for multiple, simultaneous complex programs. This position requires a proactive, self‑directed professional who excels at taking high‑level objectives and independently producing fully developed, technically sound tools and solutions.
Responsibilities
The Principal Data Analytics Engineer will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for analytical tool development to enable enterprise data visualization efforts. Duties include:
- Leveraging the MDA instantiation of Palantir's "Foundry" software to develop sophisticated analytical tools and interactive dashboards, converting complex datasets into clear, actionable executive‑level visual products
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable scheduling and analytical tools enabling continuous tracking and optimization
- Providing periodic database management support and assisting with SharePoint site administration
- Operating independently—translating abstract, high‑level objectives into complete, functioning tools without step‑by‑step guidance
Basic Qualifications
• US Citizenship
• Master’s degree in a STEM field and 12+ years of engineering experience
– Alternatively: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 20+ years of experience may be considered
• Ability to develop analytical and visualization tools
• Ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision
• Active security clearance at the required level (e.g., TS/SCI) or ability to obtain this clearance
. Experience with Palantir’s AI-based software development environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting database administration
• Strong ability to synthesize technical data into executive‑level products
• Familiarity with missile defense or other complex DoD program environments
