Job Description​

The Utility Worker maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a food service operation serving students, staff, and guests of theuniversity; operates and sets up dishwashing equipment; cleans dish return systems and area; disposes of all trash and food waste; stocksand/or supplies dispenser equipment and food items; cleans and sets up beverage, soft serve and other service equipment; cleans kitchenequipment; ensures the refrigerators are clean and in accordance with prescribed standards; cleans and maintains kitchen and servingequipment; washes windows and light fixtures; maintains floor cleanliness by sweeping and mopping.​

Minimum Education Required​

8th grade education or equivalent combination of education and experience.​

Qualifications​

Required: 8th grade education; ability to count and read warning signs/labels and communicate effectively; ability to lift and carry 50pounds; upon completion of the probationary period, must successfully pass specialized, title specific training administered bydepartment.

​

Desired: High school diploma; previous kitchen custodial work experience; Serve-Safe or equivalent sanitation training /certification.​

The Ohio State University’s Student Life Dining Services is a premier campus dining department dedicated to serving students, staff, faculty and guests. Critical to the Residential Experience, Dining Services administers the student meal plan to approximately 15,000 residential students on the Columbus, Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Wooster campuses.
 

The hiring range for this position is $15.60 - $19.50 per hour. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
