The Tony Award® winning Alliance Theatre is the leading producing theater in the Southeast, reaching more than 165,000 patrons annually.  Over 140 productions have premiered at Alliance Theatre, including 11 that went on to Broadway. The theater performs on four stages: The Coca-Cola Stage at Alliance Theatre, Hertz Stage at Alliance Theatre, Goizueta Stage for Youth & Families, and the Selig Family Black Box.  

 

Off the stage, Alliance Theatre is dedicated to education and community engagement. Through performances, classes, camps, in-school initiatives, online programs, and more, Alliance Theatre reaches over 90,000 students and community members annually.

 DESCRIPTION

The Education Marketing Coordinator develops and executes marketing initiatives that build awareness, engagement, and participation in Alliance Theatre’s education programs, Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young productions, and Youth & Families productions. Working at the intersection of arts education, audience development, and marketing, this position creates compelling content and coordinated campaigns across email, web, social media, advertising, and other channels. The Coordinator reports to the Head of Education Advancement and collaborates closely with colleagues across Education and Marketing & Communications to ensure that campaigns are accurate, timely, audience-centered, and aligned with organizational goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Campaign Planning and Project Management: Develop campaign plans, timelines, audience strategies, and deliverables for education programs and productions for young audiences. Coordinate projects across internal teams to ensure materials are accurate, on brand, and delivered on schedule.
  • Email Marketing: Develop and manage email marketing campaigns to promote upcoming productions, education programs, and events. Create engaging and informative email content to engage with our audience.
  • Website Updates and Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain the Alliance Theatre website, ensuring that all information related to education programs and youth productions is current and accurate.
  • Social Media and Content Creation: Create and curate engaging content for the Alliance Theatre's social media channels. Develop creative campaigns to promote educational offerings.
  • Photo and Video Shoots: Coordinate and manage photo and video shoots to capture promotional content for education programs and productions.
  • Public Relations: Collaborate with the PR team to generate press releases and engage with media outlets to promote educational initiatives.
  • Advertising: Plan, implement, and monitor advertising campaigns across various media platforms to maximize the visibility of education programs and family productions.
  • Analytics and Optimization: Track and report on campaign performance, including email engagement, website activity, social media performance, advertising results, enrollment, and ticket sales. Use insights to improve future campaigns and audience outreach.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the education and marketing teams to align marketing strategies with the goals and objectives of the Alliance Theatre.
  • Advisory Board Support: Support quarterly Advisory Board meetings, member communications, recruitment and onboarding activities, meeting materials, and alumni engagement events in partnership with the Head of Education Advancement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience in Tessitura CRM or equivalent CRM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with patience and professionalism.
  • Adapt to quickly changing policies, projects, and priorities.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Experience in a performing arts or entertainment venue preferred.
  • Excellent personal communication skills.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with social media platforms.

  • This position follows a hybrid work model. Regular on-site presence is required to support productions, education programs, meetings, events, and content creation activities. Employees may work remotely 1-2 days per week, subject to departmental needs and supervisor approval.
