CENTRAL TITLE DIVISION

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced National Commercial Underwriter to join our team in Minnetonka, MN. This role is dedicated exclusively to commercial and national commercial title insurance transactions and will support complex real estate deals across multiple jurisdictions.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in commercial title underwriting, risk analysis, and customer relationship management. Due to the complexity of the transactions handled by this team, candidates should possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of title industry experience, with a focus on commercial transactions. A Juris Doctor (JD) and active attorney license is strongly preferred, as many successful professionals in this role are licensed attorneys. Non-attorney candidates will be considered if they bring significant commercial underwriting expertise and a demonstrated track record of handling sophisticated commercial transactions.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value, multi-state commercial real estate transactions while partnering with lenders, developers, investors, and legal professionals nationwide.

Location Requirement: Candidates must be able to work onsite in our Minnetonka, MN office three days per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the title insurance industry, with demonstrated experience in commercial title underwriting, title examination, or commercial real estate transactions.
  • Strong understanding of title insurance principles, commercial underwriting practices, and real estate documentation.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex title issues and make sound underwriting decisions.
  • Experience reviewing title commitments, policies, endorsements, surveys, legal descriptions, liens, easements, and ownership documentation.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, lenders, developers, investors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active attorney license strongly preferred.
  • Experience underwriting national commercial transactions and multi-state real estate portfolios.
  • Underwriting authority or experience working within delegated underwriting authority guidelines.
  • Experience with complex ownership structures, entity reviews, ALTA endorsements, survey analysis, and large commercial transactions.
  • Proficiency with RamQuest or similar title production and underwriting platforms.

The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.

Position's Pay Range:

$95,000 - $110,000 annually.
