Per Diem Physician Assistant - Robotic Surgery | Brooklyn Campus

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital was one of the first surgical teaching hospitals in the United States. Its Department of Surgery was founded by a pioneer surgeon, Lewis S. Pilcher, M.D., who also founded the Annals of Surgery. Advanced and Minimally Invasive Surgery at NYP Brooklyn Methodist continues a proud tradition.

Per Diem Robotic Surgery PAs cover a wide range of subspecialties with work in areas including General Surgery, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Gynecology, and Urology. The Robotic Surgery PA is part of a comprehensive team covering surgical patients admitted to the hospital, primarily servings as bedside assistance intra-operatively, in addition to serving as front line providers rounding with the surgical team, writing notes, orders, and performing necessary bedside procedures. 

The Per Diem Robot PA schedule includes covering Monday through Friday, day shifts only, with no night, weekend, or holiday coverage expected. 

Required Criteria

- At least one year of experience in surgical robotic medicine

- Competency with X ,Xi, and/or DV5 Intuitive systems is required

Required Criteria

-Bachelor’s or Masters in Physician Assistant related studies

-NYS PA Licensure

-Current NCCPA Certification

-ACLS/BLS

-NYS Infection Control certification

-DEA Certification with NYS Opioid Prescriber training compliance
