The opportunity
As a Siemens Polarion Architect (ALM), you will be responsible for defining, designing, and guiding scalable Siemens Polarion ALM solutions that support requirements management, engineering traceability, baselines, change control, verification management, and compliance across HVDC projects. You will act as a key technical authority for Polarion architecture, working closely with engineering, quality, IT, and business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into robust ALM capabilities, governance models, integrations, and long-term platform roadmaps.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Own and define the Siemens Polarion ALM solution architecture to support requirements management, compliance, verification, traceability, and change control across HVDC projects.
- Design and govern Polarion information models, workflows, work item structures, document templates, baselines, approvals, permissions, and governance frameworks.
- Provide architectural leadership for Polarion configuration, customization, automation, dashboards, LiveReports, and extensions, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Establish best practices for requirements lifecycle management, end-to-end traceability, test management, defect handling, change impact analysis, and compliance reporting.
- Design and oversee integrations between Polarion and enterprise tools, including PLM, DevOps, engineering, and test management platforms, using REST APIs, SDKs, and OSLC standards.
- Drive decisions related to platform performance, scalability, security, access management, data quality, upgrades, and lifecycle governance.
- Collaborate with engineering, business, IT, and vendor stakeholders to align Polarion capabilities with organizational processes and ALM strategy.
- Lead solution reviews, continuous improvements, issue resolution, user enablement, and mentoring to promote sustainable Polarion best practices.
Your Background
- Extensive experience with Siemens Polarion ALM in roles such as Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Senior Configurator, or similar positions within compliance-driven engineering environments.
- Proven ability to design and implement end-to-end ALM solutions covering requirements, testing, traceability, change management, approvals, reporting, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of requirements lifecycle management, including authoring, reviews, baselining, change control, reuse, variants, and traceability.
- Hands-on experience configuring and customizing Polarion, including workflows, work item types, permissions, dashboards, LiveReports, automation, and reporting solutions.
- Solid technical skills in Java, JavaScript, Velocity, REST APIs, SDKs, OSLC concepts, and enterprise system integration approaches.
- Experience defining solution architecture, governance models, data structures, security concepts, release management, upgrade strategies, and configuration standards.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges and translate business needs into scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with experience creating architecture documentation, technical guidance, training materials, and supporting user adoption; experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Teamcenter, Jira, Git-based platforms, or related ALM/PLM ecosystems is an advantage.
