Purpose of the Position:
As the Senior Audit Manager, you will lead the audit team and provide independent assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls within the FirstRand Namibia Group. You will also be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the audit function, developing team capability and providing advisory insights to enhance business resilience and operational effectiveness.
Are you someone who can:
- Lead and oversee delivery of audit engagements across financial, operational and business processes to provide independent assurance on control effectiveness
- Define and drive execution of audit plans aligned to organisational strategy, risk profile and regulatory requirements
- Provide expert advisory and consulting services to stakeholders to enhance governance, risk management and operational efficiency
- Review and challenge audit findings to ensure clarity of root causes, risk implications and value-adding recommendations
- Engage senior leadership and governance forums to present audit outcomes, insights and emerging risk themes
- Identify systemic control weaknesses, emerging risks and trends and drive appropriate escalation and remediation actions
- Ensure audit activities comply with internal audit standards, methodologies and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools and approaches to enhance audit quality and impact
- Take full accountability for audit team performance including planning, resourcing, delivery quality and productivity
- Lead, coach and develop audit managers and teams to build capability, technical depth and a high-performance culture
- Foster a culture of independence, professional judgement and ethical conduct within the audit function
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Finance and Business stakeholders to strengthen the control environment
- Oversee tracking and closure of audit findings and management actions to ensure timely remediation
- Provide strategic input into audit-related initiatives, regulatory engagements and organisational governance forums
You will be an ideal candidate if you meet the below requirements:
- Relevant Degree in Audit, Accounting, Finance, Risk, IT or related discipline
- Minimum qualification: CA, CISA, CIA, CRMA, FRM or relevant professional certification.
- 7 – 10 years’ experience in Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance or Assurance environments.
- Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience.
- Banking and financial services sector experience will be an added advantage.
