Position Summary

The Outlet Store Associate is responsible for providing friendly customer service while assisting with the daily operation of Imler's Poultry Outlet Store. This position includes assisting customers, operating the cash register, stocking products, maintaining product displays, monitoring product quality and temperatures, and keeping the store clean, organized, and properly stocked.

Requirements

Essential Functions

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Assist customers with locating products and answering general product questions.
• Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit/debit, and other approved forms of payment.
• Accurately count cash and maintain responsibility for assigned register funds.
• Stock refrigerated, frozen, and dry products throughout the store.
• Rotate products using proper FIFO procedures and check expiration/use-by dates.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked shelves, coolers, and freezers.
• Monitor and document cooler and freezer temperatures as required.
• Assist with receiving and putting away incoming products.
• Verify products are properly priced and labeled.
• Maintain attractive and organized product displays.
• Clean counters, floors, coolers, freezers, shelves, carts, and other store areas.
• Follow all company food safety, sanitation, SQF, and personal hygiene requirements.
• Report product quality, temperature, inventory, or equipment concerns to management.
• Assist with inventory counts as needed.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and assist customers with general questions.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the store throughout the workday.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and carry products.
• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stock products at various shelf heights.
• Ability to work in and around refrigerated and freezer areas.
• Ability to safely operate carts and other equipment used to move product.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately handle cash and complete basic transactions.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer and point-of-sale system skills preferred.
• Previous retail, grocery, food service, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Must follow all company food safety, sanitation, and safety requirements.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a retail food environment and requires frequent interaction with customers. Employees regularly work around refrigerated and frozen products and may experience varying temperatures while stocking coolers and freezers. The position requires regular physical activity and the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
