Who We Are
Thread Bank is a digital-first financial technology community bank that aims to enhance customer engagement through innovative solutions. Thread Bank offers a modern website, a CRM system, and a mobile app to simplify banking for businesses and individuals. Our embedded banking solution helps
business technology platforms provide secure banking experiences. We also partner with other banks, credit unions, and FinTechs to integrate compliant financial solutions. Thread Bank values innovation, collaboration, and flexibility, offering excellent benefits and a family-friendly culture.
What We Are Looking For
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Analyst supports Thread Bank’s ERM function across three core areas: issues management, partnership and new-initiative risk assessments, and the broader quantitative risk infrastructure that underpins the Bank’s sponsor and embedded banking model. This
role ensures identified risks are tracked, managed, and resolved in a timely manner, adhering to regulatory requirements and internal policy, while also contributing directly to the quantitative assessment of fintech partners and new business initiatives. The Analyst works closely with ERM leadership and partners across the Bank on general governance support and other ERM priorities as they arise.
What You’ll Do
Issues Management
- Facilitate and support the issues management tracking process, and help develop and mature the Bank’s issues management program
- Ensure identified issues are properly documented, categorized, and tracked through their full lifecycle, from initial identification to resolution, including examinations, internal and external audits, and self-identified items
- Work with business units to develop and implement action plans that address identified risks and control gaps
- Maintain and update policies, procedures, and documentation related to the issue management framework
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the issue management framework by identifying enhancement opportunities and implementing best practices
- Educate and train staff on the issue management process and their roles and responsibilities within it
Partnership and New-Initiative Risk Assessments
- Support quantitative risk assessments of fintech and other third-party partners, including control scoring, hard floor evaluation, and exposure analysis
- Assist with new initiative risk assessments for new products, partners, and program changes, applying the Bank’s control evidence guides and attestation frameworks
- Help translate assessment results, including loss exposure, value-at-risk, and control-adjusted outcomes, into clear, decision-ready summaries for risk leadership
- Support remediation tracking and re-assessment when partnership risk profiles or program scope change materially
Quantitative Risk Approach and Methodology
- Build working familiarity with the Bank’s quantitative risk frameworks and apply their scoring, calibration, and loss quantification methodologies consistently across assessments
- Apply Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR) concepts, such as loss event frequency and loss magnitude estimation, to support consistent, defensible quantification of risk exposure
- Support the ongoing calibration and maintenance of quantitative models and tools used to estimate exposure, loss, and risk-adjusted outcomes
- Help prepare plain-English summaries of quantitative outputs suited for both technical and executive audiences
- Maintain data integrity and documentation supporting quantitative frameworks so that results are auditable and examiner-ready
General ERM Support
- Assist with maintenance of the ERM policy, playbook, and Risk Appetite Statement suite
- Support ad hoc risk analysis, board and committee materials, and other ERM initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of financial services experience supporting enterprise risk management functions
- Strong knowledge of nontraditional banking activities, including fintech and embedded banking
- Demonstrated quantitative or analytical experience such as risk modeling, statistical analysis, actuarial work, or credit and market risk analytics, with working knowledge of control scoring, loss quantification, exposure, and value-at-risk analysis
- Familiarity with the Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR) model or comparable quantitative risk methodologies, and the ability to apply that thinking to loss exposure and control-adjusted risk quantification
- Proficiency with Excel or similar tools for data analysis and modeling, and ability to work directly with datasets to support quantitative assessments
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical or quantitative findings into clear, decision-ready language for varied audiences
- Nashville based in-office position M-F
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative or business management field
