What You'll Be Doing
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Raw Material Unloading: Safely and efficiently unload raw materials from railcars and tanker trucks, ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all site and unit safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in safety training programs.
Equipment Operation: Operate unloading equipment and tools such as hoses, pumps, valves, and other related machinery. Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Documentation: Accurately complete required paperwork and logs related to material unloading, including tracking quantities and ensuring proper labeling.
Communication: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other plant personnel to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that may arise during unloading activities.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with site housekeeping standards.
Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency response drills and procedures as required by the plant.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and ensure smooth workflow, as needed.
Ideal Background
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience: Previous experience in a chemical plant or industrial environment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand written instructions, safety guidelines, and operational procedures. Basic verbal communication skills to interact with team members effectively.
Other Requirements: Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in unloading operations and documentation.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with plant personnel to meet production goals.
Adaptability: Respond effectively to changes in schedules, priorities, or processes.
Reliability: Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
Physical Demands: This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and exposure to industrial environments, including noise, dust, and chemical odors.
Safety Measures: The worker will be provided with all necessary safety equipment and training to perform the job safely.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 lbs.
