GENERAL FUNCTION: The Fifth Third Institutional Services (FTIS) Senior Relationship Manager serves as the primary contact for a moderate volume of assigned National and Regional institutional clients of varying complexity. The FTIS Senior Relationship Manager is accountable for overall client satisfaction, client retention and revenue growth though cross-sales and product upgrades with a focus on new business and deepening current client relationships. Extensive knowledge across the breadth of Fifth Third Institutional products and services including retirement plan services, investment management solutions, and trust and custody solutions.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivate close consultative relationships with C-suite and senior management decision-makers with assigned Institutional clients.
- Adherence to and measured against defined service and engagement model. Document interactions on a timely basis within the CRM system.
- Drive and maintain client engagement via customer feedback to achieve desired goals.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of all FTIS products and services and their benefits to our clients to facilitate the expansion of existing relationships through cross-sales.
- Embrace and advocate Fifth Third Institutional Services mission, value propositions and points of differentiation.
- Fluently Analyze the financial services industry and/or client specific trends to consult with clients.
- Develop and close cross-sell opportunities utilizing the Consultative Selling Process, achieving annual sales goals assigned. Document the progress in CRM utilizing the corresponding FTIS Pipeline definitions.
- Work with Institutional Sales Officers on new business development by participating in prospect meetings and sales presentations.
- Develop strong internal relationships with Fifth Third senior leadership, Institutional Sales Officers, Commercial Relationship Managers, Corporate Banker, Business Banking Relationship Managers, Private Bankers, Wealth Management Advisors, and Institutional Portfolio Managers in order to facilitate our One Bank strategy of consultatively selling Fifth Third's full suite of financial products and services.
- Proactively manage client documentation, pricing, profitability and fee structures in accordance with approved pricing schedules and guidelines.
- Facilitate the implementation of new products and services and new client relationships, including any necessary coordination with internal and external parties. Must be able to address issues independently and quickly, meeting deadlines and project plans.
- Partner with client service team to ensure all internal compliance and proper documentation requirements are met, consistent with internal fiduciary policies and procedures regarding new business and asset acceptances, discretionary actions, and all other bank policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Accountable for timeliness and accuracy of annual administrative file reviews in collaboration with client service team.
- Retain the client base by working with the client service team to deliver the highest service and client standards.
- Schedule, prepare and facilitate client service and investment reviews with clients in accordance with the Client Engagement Model Guidelines. Document interactions on a timely basis within the CRM System.
- Review, approve and monitor fee invoices to ensure accurate billing and timely payment by clients.
- Partner with Middle Office Representatives and Client Service Managers to enhance client satisfaction, profitability and improve operational efficiencies for existing clients.
- Partner with Client Service Managers and other FTIS personnel to holistically support clients.
- Represent the Fifth Third Bank in civic, government, community, charitable, banking, and professional groups and associations to develop contacts and new business opportunities, and to promote the Bank's positive image.
- Mentors Client Service Managers, less tenured Relationship Managers and other FTIS personnel.
- Other duties as assigned including participating in special projects to enhance the products and services within FTIS.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree. A major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration preferred.
- Eight years’ work experience in Institutional Services or related Financial Services areas.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills, in both client and sales situations.
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong relationship management and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
- Extended viewing of LCD screen.
- Periodic travel may be required to client meetings, which may include some overnight and/or long-distance travel.

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
