Lead the kitchen of one of South Adelaide’s big-volume venues.

Mick O'Shea's in Hackham has recently undergone an exciting renovation and is continuing to build on its reputation as a destination for great food, functions and major events.

We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef who knows what it takes to lead a high-volume kitchen, drive a strong food offering and keep a large team performing at their best.

This is a serious kitchen operation, with strong weekly covers, a busy functions calendar, promotional events and big weekend trade. You’ll have an established kitchen team around you, but we’re looking for someone who can set the pace, bring energy to the operation and take ownership of the kitchen's continued growth.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and develop the kitchen team, creating a positive and high-performing culture
• Oversee food quality, consistency and presentation across all services
• Drive kitchen operations across busy weekends, functions and major events
• Work closely with the venue leadership team to shape and develop the food offering
• Manage food costs, stock control, ordering and kitchen budgets
• Maintain high standards around food safety, cleanliness and kitchen compliance
• Plan menus and specials that work for a high-volume pub environment
• Lead from the front during busy services and ensure the kitchen runs efficiently
• Train, coach and develop your team to build a strong kitchen culture

What we're looking for

You’ll be an experienced Head Chef or senior kitchen leader who is comfortable operating in a high-volume venue generating around $60k+ in weekly food revenue.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience leading a high-volume kitchen operation
• Experience in a venue turning over approximately $60k+ in food revenue per week
• Strong commercial and financial understanding
• Experience managing large kitchen teams and busy service periods
• Confidence running functions, promotional events and major trading periods
• A genuine passion for food and delivering a great guest experience
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• The ability to remain calm, focused and hands-on when things get busy
• Flexibility and a genuine willingness to work weekends and major events
