Cashier (Full-time Only)

Description

Job Summary

Actively engages customers to create a positive shopping experience by providing excellent customer service and accurately processing customer transactions. Assists customers during checkout, supports self-checkout and online order operations, and maintains a safe, clean, and organized front-end environment. Provides bagging assistance, carry-out service, cart retrieval, and other front-end support functions as needed to ensure efficient store operations and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service.
• Accurately processes customer transactions, including cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, coupons, and other tender types.
• Assists customers with questions, concerns, and product location requests.
• Monitors and assists customers utilizing self-checkout stations.
• Supports online ordering and curbside pickup operations.
• Bags customer purchases according to company standards and customer preferences (as needed).
• Provides carry-out service and loads customer purchases into vehicles (as needed).
• Performs price checks.
• Sorts and returns items to normal shelf locations with priority given to refrigerated and perishable items.
• Collects shopping carts from parking lots and surrounding areas.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment throughout the front end.
• Ensures front entrance areas and common public areas such as walkways and vestibules are clean, dry, and safe.
• Replenishes supplies such as bags, receipt paper, and trash liners at check stands.
• Maintains proper cash handling procedures and balances assigned cash drawers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Works in a non-smoking store environment where there is not physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, etc. May work outside in all weather conditions to retrieve carts and assist customers as needed.

Requirements

Education And Experience

• High school education or equivalent, or current enrollment, is required.
• Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience is preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience is preferred.
