Job Description
Just imagine building a facilities maintenance operation that can scale with a growing retail portfolio. Now help bring it to life!
About the role
As our Facilities Maintenance Manager, you'll oversee the maintenance, repair, and operational performance of a portfolio of retail locations through the management of an outsourced facilities maintenance provider. You'll serve as the connection between Operations, store teams, and external service partners, helping ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and operationally effective. This 12‑month contract offers a rare opportunity to build key foundations from the ground up, including vendor governance, asset management, HVAC reliability, reporting, and maintenance standards. At the LEGO® Group, you'll have the autonomy to create processes, improve data quality, and establish ways of working that can support the business long after the contract ends.
** NOTE: This is a temporary position with an approximate length of 12 months, subject to change based on business needs. **
Required Qualifications
- Delivered commercial HVAC programs, including equipment lifecycle planning and preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Managed external maintenance vendors through service reviews, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
- Built facilities maintenance processes using Service Channel or a similar facilities management platform.
- Led maintenance activities involving HVAC and other critical building systems across multiple locations.
- Created operational standards, workflows, procedures, or governance documentation for facilities operations.
- Applied data analysis and reporting to support maintenance planning, prioritization, and operational decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Developed maintenance reporting and KPI dashboards for operational performance tracking.
- Delivered facility improvement initiatives through structured project management approaches.
- Supported facilities operations within high-volume retail or attraction-based environments.
- Worked with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or life-safety systems.
What you'll build
- Vendor governance processes, including performance reviews, escalation paths, accountability standards, and quarterly scorecards.
- Standardized workflows for work orders, approvals, escalations, reporting, and service management.
- A stronger preventive maintenance program with validated schedules and reduced reactive maintenance activity.
- An HVAC reliability program with validated asset inventories, equipment assessments, and replacement priorities.
- Standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational playbooks.
- KPI reporting frameworks and leadership dashboards covering spend, service levels, recurring issues, and asset health.
- A complete operations handbook and knowledge transfer plan that enables a smooth transition at contract completion.
If you've worked in a role where you managed commercial HVAC assets, documented maintenance standards, and held vendors accountable for performance, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to create structure, improve operational visibility, and build processes that are practical, scalable, and easy for others to adopt.
Life on the team
You'll join Retail Store Operations within the LEGO Group, supporting stores across the US and Canada. The team helps store teams deliver operational excellence by providing resources, guidance, and support across a wide range of business priorities. Strong organization, thoughtful prioritization, relationship building, and data-informed decision making all play an important role in how we work together and support our stores.
What success looks like
Success means putting vendor and service operations under control, creating reliable asset and HVAC data, and giving leaders clear visibility through meaningful reporting. You'll work with team members to establish a more scalable support model for a growing store portfolio. By the end of the contract, you'll have created documented processes, governance, and operational tools that allow for operations with minimal disruption.
