Senior Buyer (Material)

Contract Duration: 12 months

Job Summary
To execute and coordinate end-to-end procurement activities for project materials, ensuring timely sourcing, delivery and compliance with procurement procedures and governance requirements. The role may also support project SCM coordination as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities from sourcing and RFQ/RFx through award, expediting and close-out.
• Procure project materials including E&I, piping, valves and mechanical items.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, operations and other stakeholders on specifications and procurement requirements.
• Lead commercial evaluations, negotiations and supplier selection.
• Manage supplier performance, expediting, lead times and delivery to meet project milestones.
• Review commercial terms and conditions, identify risks and support contract negotiations.
• Interpret basic technical specifications and datasheets in collaboration with Engineering and QA/QC.
• Conduct supplier sourcing, market intelligence and cost benchmarking.
• Manage requisitions, POs and procurement status using SAP or relevant procurement systems.
• Maintain audit-ready procurement documentation and ensure compliance with P2P procedures, governance and ethical requirements.
• Act as Project SCM Lead when required to coordinate project SCM activities.

Requirements

• Degree in any relevant discipline, preferably Engineering, with 5–12 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience; or Diploma with 10–18 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in supply chain/procurement supporting project and/or operations environments.
• Experience in project material procurement, particularly E&I, piping, valves and mechanical items.
• Proven experience in sourcing, RFx, commercial evaluation, negotiation, award, expediting and delivery coordination.
• Good knowledge of industrial products, procurement specifications, supplier capabilities and lead times.
• Experience with SAP or other procurement systems.
• Exposure to large-scale/international projects and global suppliers is an advantage.
• Site/field experience such as vendor inspection, commissioning or shutdown support is an added advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
• High integrity with strong commitment to compliance, ethics and governance.
