Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of a Homelessness & Prevention Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £21.30 - £29.00 per hour

Summary:

A Homelessness and Prevention Officer is required to provide housing advice and support to residents who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The role focuses on preventing homelessness, assessing housing applications and helping clients secure suitable accommodation in the private rented or social housing sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored housing advice and guidance to residents.
  • Investigate and assess homelessness applications in line with relevant housing legislation.
  • Take appropriate action to prevent and relieve homelessness.
  • Create and monitor Personal Housing Plans with clients.
  • Arrange suitable temporary accommodation where required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Act 2002.
  • Previous experience making decisions on homelessness applications.
  • Experience working with clients to prevent homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to explain complex issues clearly to a wide range of clients.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires a Basic DBS
