What You'll Be Doing
This position provides advanced technical functions to the Department of Community Development with an emphasis on customer service. Work generally includes case management, field inspections, violation enforcement, public communication, zoning analysis, and permitting review. The position also analyzes legislative entitlements, zoning permits, and site plan approvals in order to conduct inspections. Other tasks include responding to public concerns, educating applicants on processes, and answering general questions about the Town’s development policies and regulations. Work may require temporary adjustments to core working hours.

- Experience administering or enforcing codes, laws, ordinances, policies, regulations, and rules
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, law enforcement, public administration or a related field
- One year of related work experience in enforcement for another jurisdiction
- Virginia Certified Zoning Official or Certified Zoning Administrator
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
