Description
Hours: (full-time, 40 hrs/wk) M-Th, 8 am – 5 pm | Fr, 8 am – 2:30 pm (regular OT expected included weekends as needed)
Location: This position is located in Albany, NY – onsite work is required
Pay Range: $23 - $30

The CNC Operator at Digifabshop is responsible for the setup and operation of our CNC milling machines.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Moves workpieces onto work tables either manually or with vacuum lift
Controls automatic tool changes and performs manual tool changes as necessary on CNC Routers
Verifies conformance of milled work to specifications using visual inspection and measuring instruments
Studies milling instructions, job orders, and shop drawings to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements
Selects and sets cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to milling instructions and material knowledge
Observes CNC machine operations to detect any problems
Assists with related non-CNC work tasks as necessary
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with OSHA industry standards
Necessary Skills:
Ability to use basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to solve problems as well as a working knowledge of fractions, decimals, and standard-to-metric conversions
Ability to watch gauges, dials, screens, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
Ability to Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate
Physical Requirements:
Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, inspect, or assemble objects
Controlled Precision - The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the settings/controls of a machine to exact positions
Near Vision - The ability to identify details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Maintain Stationary Position – The ability to stand continuously for up to 2 hours at a time on a regular basis
Heavy Lifting – The ability to lift up to 51lbs frequently and repeatedly
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, fumes, and loud noises. Employees are always required to wear P.P.E. while on the manufacturing floor.
