Description
Technical & Sales Office Manager
Biggleswade | £35,000 - £40,000 | Full-Time, Permanent
Are you an experienced fenestration professional with strong technical knowledge of windows and doors and experience managing a busy sales, processing or technical office?
We're recruiting for a growing premium manufacturer looking for a hands-on Technical & Sales Office Manager to take ownership of its sales office, order processing, technical support and aftersales functions.
This is much more than an office management role. You'll combine technical window and door knowledge with people management, customer service and commercial awareness, helping to improve processes, develop the team and ensure orders are right first time.
What you'll be doing
- Managing the day-to-day running of the sales and technical office.
- Leading and developing the quotations, order processing and aftersales teams.
- Overseeing customer quotations and orders from initial enquiry through to production.
- Checking specifications and ensuring orders are technically accurate before manufacture.
- Coordinating production capacity, workflow and customer delivery commitments.
- Providing technical advice and support to customers and colleagues.
- Managing customer and aftersales issues, identifying root causes and reducing repeat problems.
- Setting KPIs and driving team performance, productivity and accountability.
- Reviewing processes and introducing improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and customer service.
- Working closely with sales, production and senior management as the business continues to grow.
About you
You'll already have strong experience within the window, door or wider fenestration industry and understand the technical detail behind quoting, processing and manufacturing window and door products.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Proven experience within the fenestration/window and door industry.
- Experience managing a sales, processing or technical office.
- Strong technical knowledge of window and door products and specifications.
- Experience quoting and processing windows and doors.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning and workflow.
- Previous team management and development experience.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness with a focus on performance and results.
- Excellent attention to detail and a "right first time" approach.
- Experience with Window Designer or similar window and door processing/configuration software would be a significant advantage.
What's in it for you?
You'll be joining an established but growing premium manufacturer at an exciting stage of its development. This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of your function rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
You'll have the scope to improve systems, develop your team, influence operational performance and shape how the business supports its customers as it grows.
If you have strong window and door industry experience and you're ready for a role where you can combine your technical knowledge with leadership and commercial responsibility, we'd love to hear from you.
