POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technology Technician is the on-site technical lead for venue operations and live events. This role supports venue technology systems across live event operations and day-to-day facility needs. The person in this role serves as the primary on-the-ground resource during events and helps make sure venue technology is ready, working, and supported when it matters most.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the on-site technology lead during events, including support for venue staff, partners, vendors, broadcast crews, and rights holders
- Support venue systems including AV, network connectivity, WiFi, computers, scheduling, ticketing, POS, and guest access technology
- Know how to access key venue systems, identify power and connectivity needs, and coordinate fast issue resolution when problems arise
- Act as the first escalation point for event-day technology issues and know when and how to involve outside vendors or internal support resources
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors to keep event-critical systems operational before, during, and after events
- Help document issues, support consistent standards, and improve long-term supportability across venues
- Event technology is ready before doors open and stays operational throughout the event
- Venue teams know who to call for technology support and issues are resolved quickly
- Technology support becomes more consistent, documented, and scalable across venues
- All other duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years of experience in help desk or IT support in a client/server environment preferred
- Experience in live event technology, venue operations, sports facilities, hospitality, entertainment, or a similar fast-moving environment
- Working knowledge of AV systems, WiFi, network cabling, event technology, and hands-on troubleshooting
- Strong project management and customer service skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure, solve problems quickly, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience coordinating vendors and supporting technology in operational or guest-facing environments
- Experience supporting HP and Apple hardware
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Perform office tasks including typing, filing, and phone usage
- Sit for extended periods while operating a computer
- Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, stand, pivot, and lift up to 40 pounds as needed
- Limited exposure to physical risk; work is normally performed in a typical office environment
