Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a HCCO, Trade Markets, located in Athens, Greece. 

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview 

The HCCO, Trade Markets plays a critical role in advancing and maintaining an effective Health Care Compliance program across designated trade markets. This position partners closely with commercial and functional leaders to help ensure business activities are conducted ethically, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies. The role offers the opportunity to influence business decisions, strengthen a culture of integrity, and support patient-focused innovation through proactive compliance leadership. Based on the Health Care Compliance job framework, the role supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of compliance programs designed to prevent, detect, and address compliance risks. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and support key components of the Health Care Compliance program for assigned trade markets. 

• Partner with business and functional stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance, integrity, and accountability. 

• Oversee compliance controls designed to prevent, detect, correct, and anticipate compliance risks. 

• Conduct risk assessments and support the development and execution of management action plans. 

• Review and monitor compliance-related activities, including governance processes, data analytics, testing, reporting, training, and policies. 

• Facilitate reviews of transfers of value, interactions with healthcare professionals, and promotional or communication materials, as applicable. 

• Provide practical compliance guidance to business partners on Health Care Compliance requirements and policies. 

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the development of efficient compliance processes, systems, and procedures. 

• Deliver compliance training and communications to enhance awareness and understanding of compliance requirements. 

• Support monitoring, investigations, remediation activities, and reporting obligations, as required. 

Qualifications 

Education: 

Required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Compliance, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a related field. 

Preferred: 

• Advanced degree such as MBA, Master’s degree, or Juris Doctor. 

• Compliance, Ethics, Risk Management, or related professional certification. 

Experience and Skills: 

Required: 

• Minimum 10-12 years of relevant professional experience in compliance, legal, risk management, auditing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or a related field. 

• Experience supporting or implementing compliance programs and controls. 

• Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements and ethical business practices. 

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and interpret data. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 

• Ability to influence cross-functional partners and build trusted relationships. 

• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement. 

Preferred: 

• Experience in the medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated industry. 

• Knowledge of interactions with healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations. 

• Experience conducting risk assessments, monitoring activities, and compliance reviews. 

• Familiarity with compliance training development and delivery. 

• Experience supporting multi-country or regional compliance programs. 

• Project management experience in a complex matrix organization. 

• Ability to work effectively across diverse cultures and business environments. 

Other: 

• Language Requirements: Fluent English required; Greek language proficiency strongly preferred. 

• Travel: Up to 20% domestic and international travel, as business needs require. 

• Certifications: Compliance and Ethics certifications (preferred). 

• Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license may be required for business travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€88,500.00 - €150,765.00
