Description

The work schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Additional work outside of these regular hours may be required based on operational needs. This position will provide support and act as a liaison in the development, implementation, coordination, and oversight of project goals and activities during all phases of project life cycle for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA). Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Research and gather information needed to develop and update current and long-term plans for facilities;
- Use data and research to make recommendations about current and future facility needs like improvements, maintenance, repairs and new development utilizing a minimum five-year plan;
- Prepare accurate project costs estimates based on project needs and resources;
- Ensure plans and project activities are accurate, follow required laws and regulations, support the departments goals, and meet federal, military, and state requirements;
- Coordinate the different parts of the plans to ensure they work together and support the organization's current and future needs;
- Use specialized military planning and property management computer systems to research, track, and manage facility and property information;
- Determine whether proposed projects and plans are practical, appropriate, and can be completed with available resources;
- Anticipate and identify potential problems, conflicts, and/or delays that could impact projects and develop solutions;
- Assist in the selection of architects, engineers, and other professional contractors to complete projects within the approved budget;
- Collaborate and work with a variety of stakeholders including military units, state and federal organizations and outside agencies to identify facility needs and potential sources of funding;
- Build and maintain working relationships with planning and facility representatives through sharing information and coordinating planning efforts to ensure projects are consistent;
- Determine the order and timing of work to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within budgetary restraints;
- Act as liaison for stakeholders to keep them informed about projects, activities, priorities, changes, challenges, and organizational objectives and goals;
- Consider new technology and improved planning methods when developing future plannings;
- Prepare presentations explaining the reasoning construction projects are needed, how they will be completed, the practicality, and how the projects align with long term organizational goals; and
- Present project recommendation and supporting information to higher-level leadership for review and approval.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only:Six (6) years of relevant experience in facility planning, construction project management/coordination, real property specialization, military installation planning, master planning or related field.
OR
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in facility planning, construction project management/coordination, real property specialization, military installation planning, master planning or related field equaling to six (6) years.
