Position Summary

The Commercial Account Manager for South Jersey Gas is responsible for growing commercial customer conversions through proactive sales outreach, contractor engagement, and community involvement. This field-based role focuses on converting businesses to natural gas and supporting customers through the conversion journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute targeted sales strategies to convert on-main Commercial prospects to natural gas service.

• Identify commercial conversion opportunities using GIS and follow up with targeted cold calling to generate leads.

• Provide clear guidance to customers on the conversion process and expected timelines.

• Develop partnerships with contractors, realtors and trade professionals to build a strong referral network.

• Collaborate with internal teams, such as Marketing, Design, Permitting, Utility, Street, Construction and Engineering, to ensure a seamless customer experience

• Track all customer and sales activity using Salesforce and maintain accurate documentation.

• Promote energy efficiency program benefits during the onboarding process.

• Participate in sales trainings, team meetings, and community engagement events, including Town Halls and Chamber of Commerce functions.

• Work in the field, including site visits in varying environmental conditions.

Qualifications

Required Background:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College education or degree is desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years sales experience, in successful direct sales in a commissioned environment
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects, relationships, and processes.
• Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Strong initiative, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to work independently.
