A Brief Summary of This Position:

 

Work Shift:

Friday - Monday 6AM - 4:15PM

This position is accountable for owning and coordinating all activities related to Dispatching. The Production Dispatch Scheduler ensures the execution of the master schedule is aligned with real-time material availability, maintains enough work on the shop floor to keep operations flowing, and provides a fast escalation path when material or scheduling conflicts arise. This role serves as the central point of communication between production, warehouse, scheduling, shipping, and purchasing to ensure smooth execution of daily and weekly production plans.

 

Essential Functions:

·         Own and manage dispatching as a dedicated responsibility.

·         Plan and organize order processing while accounting for material readiness and placement.

·         Maintain and publish a Daily/Weekly Production List for all work centers.

·         Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure materials are staged and ready before releasing jobs to the floor.

·         Serve as the primary escalation point for material or scheduling issues; adjust schedules quickly to minimize lost production time.

·         Monitor order production and proactively address product or material shortages to maintain customer satisfaction.

·         Issue and interpret IFS/SSRS reports and shop packets, ensuring accuracy and timely release to the floor.

·         Coordinate feedback loops with scheduling to address reschedules, overloads, and anticipated bottlenecks.

·         Arrange orders into a sequential, material-aligned work schedule to maximize throughput and minimize bottlenecks.

·         Track and report on key scheduling metrics including schedule adherence, downtime due to material misalignment, and escalation response time.

·         Create and Release Shaft Programs for Large Burn Table.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

 

·         Technical experience and knowledge of Microsoft products as well as other relevant software

·         High school diploma and 4+ years of work/educational experience or associate’s degree

·         Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

·         Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

·         The ability to read and interpret shop blueprints and technical drawings

·         A strong working knowledge of spreadsheets, data entry, and computers

·         Experience and knowledge of Pronest software and shaftmaker program.

 

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

 

Work is typically performed in an office setting but may require going into the shop at times.  The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings.  The environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time.  No travel requirements for this position.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk when moving about the office.  Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
