Group 1 Honda Owings Mills is part of fast growing Group 1 Automotive, a leader in automotive retail, and we are looking for a Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to our team. The Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist role is to help grow our pre-owned vehicle inventory by engaging with customers already visiting our dealership for service.
In this role, you will connect with service customers through follow-up calls and in-person conversations to identify potential opportunities for customers who may be interested in selling or trading their current vehicle. You will focus on creating interest, building rapport, and providing a positive customer experience. This is not a traditional vehicle sales position. Once a customer expresses interest in purchasing or trading into another vehicle, you will introduce and transition the customer to a member of our Sales team to continue the process.
Responsibilities
Engage with customers visiting the Service Department to identify potential trade-in and vehicle acquisition opportunities
Make outbound follow-up calls to current and previous service customers
Build rapport with customers and create interest in having their vehicle evaluated for purchase or trade
Schedule vehicle appraisal and acquisition appointments
Maintain consistent and professional follow-up with prospective customers
Accurately document customer interactions, appointments, and follow-up activity
Partner closely with the Sales and Used Vehicle teams to ensure a smooth customer handoff
Deliver a friendly, professional, and low-pressure customer experience
Qualifications
Automotive BDC, customer service, or appointment-setting experience is preferred
Bilingual skills are a plus
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver license
Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80'000/ a year based on experience.
