What you’ll do

As an SSE in TechBrew, our internal R&D team, you'll:
Lead technology research and run POCs on emerging tech (Java 25, GraalVM, service mesh, etc.), then drive adoption and evangelisation of the findings across the org.
Design and build end-to-end microservices in Java, Spring Boot and Python Flask on Kubernetes/Docker, ship them via CI/CD, and keep them healthy with Grafana.
Scale AI adoption across engineering — build and productionise agentic platforms (Bedrock AgentCore, LangGraph, MCP), grow our internal AI tooling (Cursor, codegen and PR-review agents), and measure the impact so AI lands as a real force multiplier, not a novelty.
Own and scale MiQ's Rapid Application Development platforms — self-hosted Retool and Replit — across infrastructure, platform ops, and standards.
Act as an internal consultant on RAD builds — performance, caching, and partner with Architecture and Platform Engineering to define and enforce the guardrails that keep builders on compliant patterns.
Mentor junior developers and set best practices across teams.

Key stakeholders include the Development Teams of various products and tech Leads of various teams across Engineering, Data Science and Analytics.
What you’ll bring
- 4-8 years of experience developing with Java, Spring Boot, and Python Flask.
- 4–8 years with Java, Spring Boot and Python.
- A track record of researching tools and frameworks and running POCs — and a genuine appetite for cutting-edge tech.
- Clean, well-tested code (JUnit, Mockito, Karate), with strong code-review habits.
- Working knowledge of AWS (EKS, VPC, RDS) and IaC, enough to own a self-hosted platform's health, scale and security.
- Hands-on with Retool and/or Replit (or similar low-code/RAD tooling) and its security model — SSO, RBAC, environment boundaries — is a strong plus.
- Hands-on with AI/agentic development — LLM app patterns, agent frameworks (LangGraph, MCP, Bedrock) and AI-assisted engineering (e.g. Cursor) — with a nose for where it drives real leverage.
- Strong consulting and communication skills; comfortable influencing teams you don't manage.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest backend development trends, tools, and technologies, and actively share knowledge and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
