Job Description
Provide overall Manufacturing Engineering leadership for the Shamrock Program by driving TIJ2.5M FCI tooling readiness, capacity qualification, ramp execution, and process stability. Accountable for ensuring manufacturing readiness through effective process controls, capability performance (PPK/Kappa), system and resource readiness, spare management, and project schedule execution. Demonstrate strong project management and stakeholder leadership by identifying risks & opportunities, coordinating cross-functional actions, and driving effective issue resolutions to achieve ramp, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Responsibilities:
- Drive engineering solutions, including methods, operation sequences, and processes for the manufacturing of parts, component sub- assemblies, and final assemblies, based on established engineering principles and general specifications and requirements.
- Develops and implements cost estimates, capacity models, time standards, production area layouts, and recommendations for tooling and process requirements for new product introductions.
- Driving tool replacement or obsolesces projects to maintain the performance and availability of the tools.
- Develops operating procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance plans for large scale manufacturing equipment.
- Assists with issue diagnosis and problem-solving, while aiming for continuous improvement.
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners regarding process and standards compliance, recording and reporting issues, and recommendations for problem resolution for manufacture of existing products.
- Works as part of the project team of other manufacturing engineers and internal and outsourced manufacturing partners to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high-quality manufacturing solutions for moderately complex products from new- product introduction through end of lifecycle.
- Represents the manufacturing engineering team for all phases of larger and more- complex development and manufacturing projects.
- Solves difficult and complex problems with fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions and managing projects independently.
- Delivers professionally written reports and supports realization of operational and strategic plans.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of manufacturing engineering design and development innovation and excellence.
Education and Experience Required:
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design and solutions, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical knowledge in reading and interpolate technical drawings.
- Strong technical knowledge of tooling & equipment, factory floor, tooling maintenance and spare parts management and EMS system is a surplus.
- Strong communication and people management skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.
- Knowledgeable of country specific legislative and regulatory compliance (e.g., import and export regulations; trade restrictions, EH&S).
- Utilizes the expertise of others as necessary.
- Good qualitative and quantitative analytics and data modelling skills.
- Good project management and leadership skills
- Good self-disciplines
- Partnering skills (e.g. improving the day-to-day performance of internal and/or 3rd party partners).
- Familiarity with Lean Sigma or Quality Improvement methodologies.
