Position Overview
Multiple full-time opportunities are available for Respiratory Care Practitioners/Respiratory Therapists in Spokane, Washington. This position provides respiratory care within a collaborative clinical environment and requires a strong understanding of current respiratory therapy practices.
The Respiratory Care Practitioner works closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals to develop and carry out individualized patient care plans. The role may involve caring for pediatric and other complex patients requiring advanced respiratory support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory therapy services in accordance with established clinical standards and individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to coordinate respiratory care.
- Assist physicians with the delivery and direction of respiratory therapy treatments.
- Operate and maintain advanced ventilatory support equipment.
- Utilize respiratory monitoring and resuscitation devices as appropriate.
- Perform respiratory assessments and therapeutic procedures.
- Administer and monitor oxygen therapy.
- Assist with respiratory diagnostic procedures.
- Recognize changes in patient respiratory status and communicate findings to the appropriate clinical team members.
- Complete required departmental and unit-specific orientation.
- Perform additional patient care activities within the practitioner's training, licensure, and demonstrated competencies.
Required Qualifications
- Education sufficient to meet applicable certification, licensing, and registration requirements.
- Active Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner license upon hire.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Bachelor's degree, as specified for this opportunity.
