Consultant Infectious Diseases – Abu Dhabi

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Consultant Infectious Diseases to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialized diagnosis, treatment, and management of infectious diseases across a broad range of adult patients, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with infectious diseases.Manage complex bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic, and other infectious conditions.Evaluate and manage patients with sepsis and other serious infections.Provide guidance on antimicrobial selection, dosing, duration, and stewardship.Manage hospital-acquired and healthcare-associated infections.Provide consultation for infection prevention and control matters.Work closely with microbiology, laboratory, pharmacy, intensive care, surgery, and other clinical departments.Interpret microbiology, laboratory, and imaging results to support diagnosis and treatment.Provide advice on infection control, isolation, and appropriate precautions.Support antimicrobial stewardship and appropriate use of antibiotics.Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement, and patient-safety initiatives.Follow DOH regulations, hospital policies, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.Participate in teaching, training, and continuing medical education activities.RequirementsMBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.Recognized postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine and/or Infectious Diseases.Fellowship or equivalent specialist training in Infectious Diseases is preferred.Relevant experience as a Consultant/Specialist in Infectious Diseases.Valid DOH License – Abu Dhabi is mandatory.Strong knowledge of infectious disease diagnosis, antimicrobial therapy, and infection prevention.Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and high-quality clinical care.Key CompetenciesInfectious Disease Diagnosis & ManagementAntimicrobial StewardshipSepsis ManagementInfection Prevention & ControlHospital-Acquired InfectionsClinical MicrobiologyMultidisciplinary CollaborationPatient Safety & Clinical GovernanceClinical Leadership
