Your mission

• Develop and execute Schletter’s sales and marketing strategy for the rooftop solar PV mounting structure segment in South Africa.
• Manage key customers, including wholesalers, distributors, and EPC companies, to increase market share.
• Understand Schletter’s product portfolio and calculate detailed technical designs and solutions for customer projects.
• Apply technical knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering, steel, aluminium manufacturing, and related disciplines.
• Lead and manage sales representatives and the inside sales function, with the objective of expanding the team and entering new international markets.
• Support marketing strategy development, customer targeting, and the creation of strategies for prospective external customers.
• Generate business leads and opportunities through field sales, cold calling, customer visits, trade shows, product launches, and customer presentations.
• Manage key accounts and facilitate customer events, including product training.
• Develop and maintain customer pricing strategies and pricelists.
• Negotiate customer contracts and agreements.
• Prepare and present sales forecasts, sales reports, and management presentations in line with Group requirements.
• Maintain accurate customer, market, and project information in the CRM platform, including weekly visit reports.
• Gather and maintain market intelligence and support alignment between internal business functions and market requirements.
• Develop proposals and collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Development, and other teams on market-specific product solutions.
• Report directly to the Managing Director of the South African subsidiary.
• Travel frequently- both nationally and internationally.

Your profile

• Degree, diploma, or certificate in a relevant Business or Commerce discipline, such as BCom, MBA, or PGDipBMA.
• Strong technical knowledge and acumen in relevant engineering disciplines; a formal technical qualification would be beneficial.
• More than 10 years of relevant technical sales experience in a similar environment, with a successful track record in multi-channel B2B sales.
• Strong understanding of commercial activities throughout the sales cycle, channel management, and international trade.
• Highly competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, as well as CRM, ERP, and related software platforms.
• Strong prospecting and qualification skills.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles from cradle to grave.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, orders, and customers of varying sizes.
• Ability to act as a strategic business partner and influence key stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and able to work remotely without supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a global corporate environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build internal and external networks.
• Comfortable working in a flexible, dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and multicultural environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.

• Fluent in spoken and written English and Afrikaans, with additional languages being beneficial.
