Description

AT A GLANCE
  • Location: South Lake Tahoe, CA (on-site, no travel required)
  • Property: High-volume resort valet operation — up to 500 cars/day at peak
  • Team: ~30 employees, all direct reports
  • Reports To: Area Director of Operations
  • Comp: Competitive base salary + quarterly performance bonus
  • Relocation: Assistance available for the right candidate
  • Timeline: Immediate — ASAP hire
  • Growth Path: Area Operations role as company expands in the Tahoe market

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a rare find in the parking world: a single-property operation with the complexity and prestige of a much larger role. You'll be the sole leader on the ground at a high-profile resort property on the California/Nevada state line — managing a fully valet-only operation for a well-recognized hospitality brand, interfacing directly with hotel leadership, and building the kind of client relationship that defines long-term account success.

There's no nearby corporate office looking over your shoulder. You run the operation. The upside is real autonomy, a strong platform to grow from, and a company that wants to expand its Lake Tahoe footprint — with you at the center of it.

The client is a family-owned parking operator with nearly 70 years in the industry. No private equity. Long-tenured leadership. A culture built on service and stability, not quarterly targets. This is a company where strong operators build real careers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll own all aspects of the operation — from the daily drive to the client relationship to the financial performance of the account.

Operations & Financial Performance
  • Oversee all day-to-day valet operations for a high-volume resort property
  • Own the P&L — budget development, revenue monitoring, variance management, and monthly reporting
  • Manage timekeeping, scheduling, and payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor revenue control measures and implement operational improvements

Team Leadership
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of ~30 direct-report employees
  • Train staff to Forbes 5-star service standards
  • Build a strong team culture — mentor high-potential employees and identify candidates for promotion
  • Manage all HR matters in coordination with the HR department

Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the hotel management team
  • Participate in hotel leadership meetings and communicate proactively on occupancy, events, and staffing impacts
  • Anticipate and resolve guest issues before they escalate
  • Act as a professional advisor and extension of the hotel leadership team
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure full compliance with California employment law — meal and rest breaks, wage requirements, documentation standards
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures; report and minimize claims
  • Maintain audit controls and inventory management

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves
  • Direct valet or parking operations experience — hotel and hospitality background strongly preferred
  • Proven people management experience with hourly, high-volume workforces (20–50+ employees)
  • California employment law familiarity — you know the rules and you take compliance seriously
  • Strong floor presence — you're comfortable in the operation, not just behind a desk
  • Client relationship skills — you can hold your own in a room with hotel GMs and ownership groups
  • Resourcefulness and autonomy — you're comfortable making decisions without a local support structure

Strong Preferences
  • Experience in a seasonal, resort, or ski town environment — you understand flex staffing and transient workforce management
  • Familiarity with valet technology platforms
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the Lake Tahoe area (relocation assistance available)

Education & Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in management or related field preferred — not required with equivalent experience
  • 2–3 years of parking or valet operations experience plus 2–3 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license with clean record; manual transmission experience required
