[What the role is]

The ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute is a leading research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic development. Applications are invited for:

Research Officer, Regional Strategic & Political Studies (1-Year Contract)

[What you will be working on]

The Research Officer will contribute to the Regional Strategic and Political Studies Programme at ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute by conducting high-quality research, analysis, and commentary on contemporary strategic and political developments in Southeast Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific.

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the Coordinator and Research Fellows in research activities, including data collection and analysis, with opportunities to undertake independent and collaborative research on Southeast Asian strategic and political issues.
• Provide editorial support for publications under RSPS’s purview
• Provide administrative support in organising workshops and other activities under RSPS, including writing summary reports

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

• BA/MA in International Relations, Political Science, Southeast Asian Studies, Government or Public Policy; or a related discipline

• Good communication and writing skills in English

• Familiarity with data analysis tools and the ability to integrate quantitative and qualitative analysis will be a favourable consideration.

• Ability to engage in knowledge exchange and communicate research findings to different audiences

• Willingness to learn new skills, take on new responsibilities, and work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment
