Summary:

Responsible for the production, assembly and test required to produce all minor assemblies that are sub-components to Puller/Tensioner machines, overhead, underground, distribution, transmission and/or any other class of equipment manufactured as standard products and custom equipment. 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Responsible for the setup, assembly or production of component parts into completed units adhering to the bill of materials and production documents. 
  • Demonstrates fit up, installation of hydraulic and mechanical components, electrical wiring, plumbing, etc. 
  • Responsible for reading blue prints and schematics, handling necessary materials and hand tools. 
  • Performs minor adjustments, repairs or setups to product being built. 
  • Inspects parts by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures or other inspection equipment. 
  • Performs a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision. 
  • Responsible to see that all company supplied tools used are placed into proper storage cabinets daily. 
  • Assist quality in testing and other efforts, as required.
  • Conduct rope winding, as necessary. 
  • Assist and maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety and housekeeping. 
  • Performs all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.

Qualifications:

Education:

High School diploma or general education degree 

6 months’ experience in manufacturing environment 


Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Mathematical Skills:

Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The temperature in the work environment is uncontrolled, so the employee is exposed to both extreme cold and hot temperatures.
