Your Opportunity
Compensation $17.00 start pay!
Assists in many areas within the site. Tasks include hot spot service response, roll off container delivery and retrieval, emergency route truck coverage groundskeeping and light maintenance, sanitation, animal removal, and ADU container delivery. The employee may operate mowers, tractors, trucks and other farm equipment as directed along with various other tasks suited for maintaining an ADU facility.
Core Responsibilities
Hot Spot service response as needed by other departments, company and contract growers, and independent vendors.
Assist in Roll Off container delivery and retrieval
Assist in route truck coverage to meet scheduling requirements as needed - Assemble ADU containers as needed, load containers for onsite pick up customers using forklift.
Delivery of ADU containers when requested (purchases and retrievals/returns) to farms and other locations.
Install refrigeration ADU container cameras, repair and troubleshoot as directed
Washes and sanitizes interior and exterior of trucks and trailers
Assist in emergency spill clean ups and delivery of containers when requested
Sanitize and wash multiple areas on the site using high pressure equipment.
Assist with facility and equipment maintenance.
Drive internal service truck to various sites for delivery or pick up supplies.
Assist with mortality removal
Assist with grounds and facility upkeep by cutting grass, taking out trash, and cleaning inside and outside the facility when required, regular light maintenance and repairs as required.
Follow the safety requirements of the Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS).
Abide by all company policies, procedures and guidelines as directed
Flexibility with a willingness to change plans according to the direction of leadership.
Work as a team player by accomplishing daily department work requirements and goals.
Responsible for being in complying with all environmental laws and procedures.
Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and how it applies to their specific worksite.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to do hard physical labor.
Strong commitment to teamwork.
Ability to follow instructions and deal with standardized situations.
Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
Willingness to be on call when needed
Ability to operate forklift and standard farm/utility equipment such as but not limited to bobcat, tractor, lawnmower, weed eater etc.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required, CDL B required, CDL A preferred - 1-year minimum driving experience
Valid Medical Card
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment

Must be able to walk an average of 2 – 4 miles per day, occasionally up to 5 or 6.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a limited basis.
Must be able to occasionally work in situations two feet above the floor in a leaned-over or squatted position.
Must be able to operate a high-pressure washing system.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment
Must be able to tolerate blood, animal dander, manure, dust, odors, and frequently noisy conditions.
