Description
- Perform daily feeding and watering of animals
- Perform daily mucking of stalls, barns and other areas where animals are housed.
- Perform routine maintenance of buildings and grounds (i.e. cleaning restrooms, trash removal, line trimming, fence repairs, mowing, painting as well as basic plumbing and electrical work.
- Install and maintain equipment or products for animal care.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical ability.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds, feed sacks, hay bales, etc.
- Ability to operate light tools and equipment.
- Accurate and detail-oriented with good communication skills.
- Ability to remain focused and follow written or verbal directions.
- Easily adapts to changes in the work environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and proceed with objectives.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgement.
- Flexible, with an ability to carry multiple tasks to completion

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; and climb ladders and stairs. Occasionally, the employee is required to stoop, kneel or crouch. Must be able to drive and operate a motor vehicle and small equipment. Manual dexterity to operate tools and an ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds is required.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The work environment may be subject to heat, cold, dust, fumes, noise and moisture.
- May be exposed to all weather elements.
- Ability to work extended hours, if necessary.
