The Lead of Digital Product Ownership leads the Product Ownership function across the digital portfolio, accountable for ensuring that digital product strategies are translated into clear, executable, high‑quality product definitions that enable predictable delivery, regulatory compliance, and scalable architecture.

This role builds and leads a team of Digital Product Owners, establishing enterprise standards for backlog integrity, technical requirement quality, and sprint execution readiness. Operating in tight partnership with Product Management and R&D Engineering, the Lead of Digital Product Ownership ensures that engineering teams are consistently enabled with unambiguous priorities, technically grounded requirements, and disciplined delivery practices.

Your Team
This position reports to the Head of Digital Product Management in Digital Enterprise at Vantive.

What you will be doing

• Member of a high-performing global team supporting Vantive’s Digital Enterprise strategy in support of vital organ therapy care. Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Product Owners.

• Establish and uphold enterprise standards for product ownership excellence, including:
  • Backlog structure and hygiene
  • Acceptance criteria quality and testability
  • Dependency identification and management
  • Technical readiness for sprint and PI execution
• Ensure all backlog items are clinically grounded, technically explicit, testable, and compliant with regulatory expectations.
• Drive consistent interpretation and implementation of product intent across engineering teams.

• Build strong technical ownership capability across the organization, emphasizing:
  • Systems thinking and architectural alignment
  • Translating clinical and product intent into actionable technical requirements
  • Confident tradeoff articulation with engineering and product leaders
• Define clear role expectations, decision rights, and career pathways for Product Owners.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for product ownership and execution challenges.

• Partner with Engineering leadership to enable stable, predictable delivery.
• Ensure strong alignment between PI objectives, sprint execution, and architectural constraints. Accountable to final program increment plan each rhythm, including the tooling, reporting and evaluation of performance and how to improve on next planning cycle.

• Act as a trusted execution counterpart to Product Management
• Ensure that digital product definitions support:

• • Regulatory compliance (FDA, CE, privacy, security)
  • Quality documentation and traceability
  • Reliable verification and validation activities
• Partner with Quality, Architecture, and Engineering to ensure product ownership practices scale across platforms and programs.
• Drive continuous improvement in requirement clarity, defect prevention, and delivery predictability. Model and lead implementation of AI tools into team processes for improvement of speed and quality deliverables.

What you will bring

• 10+ years of experience in product development roles, including product ownership or technical product leadership.
• 5+ years of experience leading product owners or equivalent roles in digital, health technology, or regulated software environments.
• Demonstrated success building execution‑focused product ownership organizations.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Agile and PI-based delivery models
  • Software architecture concepts
  • Regulated product development lifecycles

• Strong partnership orientation with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, and Architecture.
• Exceptional ability to translate complexity into clear priorities, tradeoffs, and executable decisions.
• Comfortable operating in highly matrixed, global organizations.
