The Opportunity:

Immerse yourself in cutting-edge technologies while serving as a strategic technical advisor to energy clients. As a fusion engineer on our team, you will support the development of new technologies for fusion energy systems by providing advice and guidance on the design, evaluation, and management of government and private sector sponsored Research and Development (R&D) programs. Your insights will also help inform our clients about emerging technology needs. You will engage and collaborate with a group of technology experts to leverage rapidly maturing technologies from other sectors to further energy technology development. You Have: 

• 5+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research in plasma physics and fusion energy systems

• 2+ years of experience in the research field, including high energy lasers or pulsed power

• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

• Master’s degree

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience in a consulting or advisory role

• Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking 

• Possession of excellent communication, organizational, client service, and analytical skills 

• Doctorate degree in Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Astrophysical Sciences

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
