The Northland Corridor Warkworth to Te Hana - Ara Tūhono project will enhance connectivity, improve safety and support regional growth, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
About Opportunity
As Design Manager, you will oversee the development and delivery of concept designs, keeping them aligned with project and tender goals for time, cost, safety, constructability and quality. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will control the design scope and budget, support value engineering and risk management, and act as the key point of contact between ACCIONA personnel and design consultants. You will manage the commercial and technical interface with consultants and help secure design approvals from clients and authorities.
Key Accountabilities
- Direct development and delivery of concept designs
- Control design scope, budget and program
- Manage consultant agreements and commercial performance
- Identify design gaps and risks, and escalate to stakeholders
- Coordinate design changes and resource allocation
- Engage clients and authorities to secure design approvals
- Champion safety in design and constructability outcomes
Required Skills and Competencies
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
- Experience delivering complex design-and-construct (D&C) projects
- Track record managing multidisciplinary design teams
- Strong understanding of design management and construction methods
- Skilled communicator across stakeholder and consultant groups
