Position: Capital Management AVP – Financial Resource Management
Summary
The Balance Sheet Strategy (BSS) team is looking for a dynamic and skilled individual to spearhead strategic projects, and analyses arising from the rapid growth of our regional businesses. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of successfully driving diverse projects to completion and delivering high quality/error free work product.
The role will span a broad range of corporate finance initiatives including capital structure optimization, Corporate Finance Actions, financial modeling, capital stress testing, management reporting, and ad hoc analyses to support general resource management of the firm. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, possess a robust grasp of financial statement concepts and related regulatory capital considerations. Candidate should also have a demonstrable abilities in spreadsheet modelling, leveraging AI to speed production and augment analyses, and an understanding of how to develop polished presentations for senior audiences.
The position is based in the New York City office [(working from the office for a minimum of 4 days)], offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of Mizuho’s Americas franchise.
Responsibilities
Partner within BSS and across the organization to drive regional and firmwide initiatives & profitability goals.
Support efforts to optimize management of the firm’s consolidated and granular financial resources in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
Enhance the rigor and comprehensiveness of our capital stress testing infrastructure.
Actively contribute to the strategic planning and management of regional and firmwide finance initiatives.
Enhance and maintain internal policies and procedures governing our work-processes.
Prepare impactful analyses and presentations for senior management, business leadership, and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, and valuation concepts
Knowledge of bank regulatory capital and stress testing (Basel, RWAs, CCAR, etc.)
Familiarity with our principal corporate and investment banking business lines
Demonstrated problem solving skills; ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to develop actionable insights
A high level of flexibility and a strong willingness to fulfill team goals in an environment of changing conditions and deadlines
· Detail oriented and able to work independently to produce high quality work product with limited managerial oversight
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to succinctly explain underlying drivers and key takeaways to technical and non-technical audiences
Team player who thrives on individual responsibility
Bachelor’s degree in areas such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other quantitative field preferred. Masters a plus
Experience in management consulting, strategy, or investment banking preferred
Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
The expected base salary ranges from $93,000 - $145,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
